Do not release Maudhany: VHP

CHENNAI: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Monday urged Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi not to accede to the request of Kerala Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan to release People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Maudhany. S. Vedantham, international VHP vice-president, said Mr. Maudhany was an accused in several cases, including the Coimbatore serial blasts cases.

If Maudhany was released, it would encourage terrorist activities, he says.
