Facelift for maternity block at General Hospital

KOCHI: The General Hospital will have a completely air-conditioned labour room soon. The hospital, catering to patients belonging to the lower income strata, would offer better facilities with the grant of funds of Rs. 3 lakh from the National Programme on Reproductive and Child Health. Another Rs. 1 lakh comes from the Hospital Development Fund. Besides, the air-conditioners are being sponsored separately. The labour room, which is about 1000 sq. ft. in area, can attend to six patients at a time.

C-arm facility

The hospital also has a C-arm facility in the orthopaedic surgical section, which is the first of its kind in Government hospitals in the State, apart from the medical colleges.
