Water level

MADURAI : The water level in the Periyar dam stood at 121.20 feet with a discharge of 1100 cusecs. The level in the Vaigai dam was 55.51 feet with an inflow of 418 cusecs and a discharge of 1300 cusecs. The combined Periyar credit stood at 4974 mcft.

Drainage work inspected

The Metro Water Managing Director, Shiv Das Meena, and the Joint Commissioner of Municipal Administration, Hiteshkumar Makhwana, inspected the ongoing underground drainage work here on Monday.

The officials advised contractors to avoid inconvenience to the public and take all safety measures while taking up road digging work. The Corporation Commissioner D.J. Dinakkaren, the Metro Water Superintending Engineer, Jeyapal, and the Corporation Superintending Engineer, K. Sakthivel, accompanied them.

Grievance day meet cancelled

The weekly grievance day meeting conducted on Tuesdays, scheduled to be held for the residents of east zone on June 13, has been cancelled, a statement said.

Revaluation of answer sheets

Madurai Kamaraj University has announced June 19 as the last date for submission of forms for revaluation of answer sheets of the examinations conducted for the following courses, results of which were published last week: B. Sc., M.F.T, M. Com. (Finance), M.F.C, M.Sc. (Microbiology), M.B.M, M. Com. (Banking), M.A (Music), M.T.M, M.A (Indian Culture), M.S - I.T.M and M.Sc. (Electronics and Communication). Students can access their results in www.mkuniversity.org, www.webulagam.com and www.southindia.com. Students wishing to apply for revaluation can download the form from www.mkuniversity.org/forms/html.

Surprise check

A surprise check was conducted by a team of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board officials in areas coming under Perungudi division in west zone recently.

A fine of Rs.9542 was imposed on consumers who were found violating the prescribed TNEB norms.

The violations came to light when the 20-member team of engineers, led by the Madurai Metro Executive Engineer in-charge (General), A. Natchadalingam, checked 1356 electricity connections in the area, says a press release. — Staff Reporter
