Back in the reckoning

There was a time when actor Jayaram reigned as a safe bet among the galaxy of Malayalam film stars. Some of his films like `Thoovalkottaram' even outshone superstar releases at the box-office.

The actor also became a rage in Tamil with movies like `Tennali' and `Panchathantiram.' All that is history now.

Though the actor won critical acclaim for his roles in `Shesham' and `Theerthadanam,' his lean phase in commercial films continued.

The actor is now back again in the reckoning with T.K. Rajeev Kumar's `Seethakalyanam.'

Renowned musician A.R. Rahman released the film's music album at the Kanakakunnu palace in the city recently.

Menaka Sureshkumar is producing the film and Beeyar Prasad has written the songs.

Slated for release during September this year, the film stars Jyothika as the heroine. Vocalist Sreenivas makes his debut as music director in the film.
