Principal of Panipat Government school suspended

CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government on Tuesday suspended K.S. Mann, Principal of the Government Senior Secondary School, Panipat, after he was allegedly caught red-handed by the police under the influence of liquor while on duty in the school.

Medical report

Talking to media persons here, Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana said Mr. Mann had been suspended on the basis of separate reports sent by the Deputy Commissioner of Panipat and the Deputy Superintendent of Police as well as the medical report of General Hospital, Panipat.

Inspection

Giving details, he said that after receiving a telephonic tip-off on May 29, a police party headed by Panipat DSP Sumit Kumar conducted inspection in the school and found Mr. Mann in an inebriated condition while on duty. He was taken to General Hospital for medical examination. The medical report had confirmed that that Mr. Mann had consumed alcohol and was under its toxic effect at the time of examination.
