Cyclist killed in accident

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 49-year-old cyclist, identified as Rajashekharan Nair, of Angadickal Vadakkepeedika Vadakkethil, near Chengannur, was killed when his bicycle collided with a motorcycle at Vallicaud, near here, on Tuesday. The motorcyclist, Anil, has been admitted to Kottayam Medical College Hospital with serious injuries, according to the police. — Staff Reporter

Man killed in attack on farm

PALAKKAD: A man was killed and his wife and another person were injured in an attack by five assailants on workers of a farm on the Kanjikode-Malampuzha bypass road, near Teaktex, in the early hours of Tuesday. Chinnappan, 23, son of Nanchan, Kondamputhur, Trichy, died in the district hospital here a few hours after being admitted with head injury. Jyothy, 21, and Muthuswamy, 60 were the injured. Superintendent of Police T. Chandran, who visited the spot, said that a special police team, headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was formed to inquire into the incident. The area witnessed several such crimes in the recent past. A couple of suspects were questioned and the culprits would be booked soon, he added. — Staff Reporter
