BANGALORE: The Fee Fixation Committee headed by retired High Court judge Rangavittalachar has fixed the fees for pre-clinical, paraclinical, clinical (degree) and clinical (diploma) postgraduate courses in medicine and for clinical and paraclinical postgraduate courses in dental sciences. The fees will be applicable to students admitted through tests held by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) or the Government. The committee has fixed the fees for 14 medical colleges and 18 dental colleges, which will be applicable for three consecutive years from 2006-07. The fee structure has been published in the Karnataka State Gazetteer. For the pre-clinical (degree) postgraduate course in medicine, the fee in M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, is the highest at Rs. 47,000. The fees for the college's courses in paraclinical (degree), clinical (degree) and clinical (diploma) are also the highest at Rs. 97,000, Rs. 3.76 lakh and Rs. 2.82 lakh respectively. Under the dental stream, S.D.M. Dental College, Dharwad, has the highest fees of Rs. 1.81 lakh for the postgraduate clinical course and Rs. 60,500 for the paraclinical course. The fees in the other colleges (in the order of pre-clinical, paraclinical, clinical degree and clinical diploma) are as follows:
