KHAMMAM: The Lok Satta will take up a programme for creating awareness on panchayat elections in all the 46 mandals in Khammam district, according to its district president, S. L. Kantha Rao. He said that the organisation would reach out to every voter with the fact which he or she should bear in mind while exercising franchise. He said that the Central and State Governments were spending over Rs 2,100 crores a day on various programmes benefiting the public. He said that the voter had got the responsibility to vote for right candidates in the elections. The very purpose of holding the election would be lost if any one was voting under the influence of liquor or money. They should strive to strengthen democratic systems by voting for the right candidates in the election. The organisation would bring out pamphlets and handbills. Retired employees and voluntary organisations would be involved in the programme in a big way, he said. The campaign was being spearheaded by a committee comprising K. Leelavathi, T. Vijayaraghava Raoand R Murali Mohan.
