Pension for Maharashtra legislators' spouses

MUMBAI: Maharashtra has decided to pay monthly pension to spouses of its deceased legislators from back dates, a press note said. The spouses would get Rs. 3,000 a month from 1 January 06 and Rs. 1,000 a month for the period from 1 September 2000. The pension would stop on remarriage. The state has amended Clause 4 of the Legislators' Pension Rules 1976 to introduce the family pension.
