`After 11 years, BMIC is being taken up only now'

BANGALORE:
Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that he did not need any lessons from anybody on handling the issue of the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Project, being executed by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise (NICE).
Mr. Kumaraswamy was reacting to the suggestion of Ashok Kheny, Managing Director of NICE, that he read William Shakespeare's Macbeth to learn a few lessons. The Chief Minister said there was no need to read such works.
He was not against the project but he wanted to ensure that the needs of farmers were met.
Inaugurating the casualty block at Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital, built by the Bangalore Development Authority, Mr. Kumaraswamy criticised NICE for "slow execution" of the project. "After 11 years, BMIC is being taken up only now," he said.
Comparing the state of affairs of BMIC with similar projects in Dubai, the Chief Minister, who recently returned after a four-day tour of Gulf nations, said projects were being executed at a fast pace in the emirate.
