Rafiq Uppinangadi is dead

MYSORE: Mysore-based journalist Rafiq Uppinangadi, 37, died in Uppinangadi in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday morning.

Rafiq, who had worked with Andolana and Prajanudi Kannada dailies, was battling throat cancer for the last two years.

He authored a Kannada novel "Ajji Mada" and brought out a collection of small stories "Kannada Sankalana".

He is survived by his wife Geetha, a Hindi teacher in a government school in Chamarajanagar, a son and a daughter.

The Mysore District Journalists' Association and Mysore Reporters' Guild have mourned the death of Rafiq Uppinangadi.
