Rubber flaps for heavy vehicles to be released in market

MANGALORE: Belthangady Taluk Rubber Growers' Marketing and Processing Cooperative Limited, Ujire, Dakshina Kannada, will release rubber flaps for heavy vehicles in the market at Ujire on June 14.

Himavanth Gopal, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Mysore Region, will release the new product, according to Srihdar G. Bhide, president of the society. The society has been engaged in procurement and marketing of raw rubber for the past two decades, and in manufacturing finished rubber products for the past seven years at its manufacturing unit at Koyyr in Laila village, Belthangady.

The new product will be available in regular, medium and superior qualities, priced at Rs. 65, Rs. 75 and Rs. 88 respectively for a piece, he told The Hindu on Tuesday. In 2005-06, the society produced finished rubber products worth Rs. 25 lakh, he said.
