The script goes wrong!

Staff Reporter

Youth arrested on charge of robbing woman employer

HYDERABAD: Sabavath Ramanjaneyulu had no plans to shoot a film. But the 17-year-old servant wrote the script, scene by scene, well in advance as to how he would commit the robbery, said the Jubilee Hills police on Tuesday.

Ramanjaneylu allegedly robbed his employer V. Sharada, 55, of Rs. 1,000 at knifepoint in her house on Road no. 13 of Jubilee Hills during daytime on Monday. The Jubilee Hills police caught him within 18 hours.

More than the age of the accused and the amount involved, the script written by the accused persons, which was recovered from his room in his master's house, surprised the police.

"From the details like when the woman would be alone to how he should threaten her, the accused person jotted down on papers," Jubilee Hills Inspector M. Srinivasa Rao told reporters.

Even more interesting was the attempt by Ramanjaneylu to mislead the police about his identity. When he joined the house as servant a month ago, the youngster gave his name as Ramanjaneyulu to the employer.

"But in the script, he said he gave the false name to his master and claimed himself to be Shiva Shankar Reddy. During interrogation, he confessed to have done this to mislead us," the Inspector explained.

On Monday around noon, the accused bolted the door from outside when Ms. Sharada was in `puja' room and began searching for valuables. When she grew suspicious and raised an alarm, the servant opened the door and threatened to kill her. He collected Rs. 1,000 from almirah and a mobile and fled after confining the woman in a bathroom. The police caught him near the Secunderabad railway station while he was trying to catch a train for Tirupati on Tuesday.
