Nizam's jewellery exhibition extended

The Nizam's Jewellery exhibition at the Salar Jung Museum here, which was supposed to be closed on May 31, has been extended up to July 31. However, the timings of the expo have been reduced to seven hours from 10 hours and will be open on all days, including Fridays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with effect from June 16. The advance booking counter at the museum will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., a press release said.

Truckers stage protest

Lorries went off the city roads for a short while here on Tuesday morning as lorry operators and owners carried out a token protest against the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices.

The Lorry Operators Association State president Gopal Naidu said plans of intensifying the strike, which saw over 1,000 lorries going off the streets for around three hours, were yet to be chalked out.
