HYDERABAD: The Delhi-bound AP Express was delayed by two hours on Tuesday following a hoax bomb threat at the Nampally railway station. The Hyderabad police had to halt the train, ask all passengers to get down and check the train thoroughly for two hours only to realise that it was a hoax. Saifabad ACP Parameshwar said that an unidentified person called up an Air Force officer on the latter's mobile stating that explosives were planted in the train. The officer in turn alerted a Vigilance Inspector of the Railways who cautioned railway station officials. On receipt of information, teams of the Government Railway Police, Railway Protection Force and the city police rushed to the station with sniffer dogs and bomb disposal teams and checked the train thoroughly. "The train is supposed to leave around 6.40 a.m. and the Air Force officer received the call almost at the same time," the ACP explained. The police sources said the call was traced to New Delhi. Efforts were on to narrow down on the anonymous caller.
