Pre-counselling guidance: registration begins today

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: Registration will begin on Wednesday for the pre-counselling guidance programme being organised by The Hindu, under the banner of Educationplus, at Toc H Public School, Vytilla, on June 24.

This is part of a series of programmes that are being organised at three centres in Kerala for the benefit of those who are to take part in the Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) to be held under the aegis of the office of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations for admission to professional courses in the State. And this is the third year running that The Hindu is conducting such an event in Kochi (and other parts of Kerala).

The programme is meant to provide students with an introduction to the counselling process, an idea of various courses and an opportunity to have their doubts cleared to the extent possible. The attempt is to help students, as well as their parents, to make the best out of the complex choices before them.

Experts will take part in the programme. Entry is on a first-come first-served basis, and students can register themselves in advance on payment of the registration fee of Rs.50.

The registration form will be available at the office of the The Hindu in Kochi till June 22 (excluding Sunday) between 10 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Outstation candidates can register themselves by e-mail or send a self-addressed, stamped envelope seeking an application form. In such cases, actual registration will take place at the respective venues, which will be notified, as the events commence.

A 100-page handbook providing a detailed overview of the main courses and the counselling process will be provided free-of-cost to each participant.
