VIRUDHUNAGAR: T. Senthil Kumar, a 2001-batch Indian Police Service Officer, assumed office as the new Superintendent of Police on Wednesday. He is replacing T.N. Seshasai, who was transferred to Chennai. He had worked as Assistant Superintendent of Police in Perambalur district and was Deputy Commissioner (South) in Chennai. He said that he would take steps to ensure that the district police were people-friendly and added that aggrieved people could meet him in person to represent their case. Police should work according to their conscience to serve the people, he said.
