COMED-K releases entrance test rank list

  • 3,952 Karnataka candidates and 5,160 non-Karnataka candidates assigned medical ranks
  • 34,237 Karnataka candidates and 14,012 non-Karnataka candidates assigned engineering ranks

    BANGALORE: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) on Wednesday released the rank list of the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET) conducted on May 28 for admission to member professional colleges. Individual results can be accessed on the website www.comedk.org.

    A total of 3,952 Karnataka candidates and 5,160 non-Karnataka candidates were assigned medical ranks.

    They obtained a minimum of 50 per cent marks in the physics, chemistry and biology papers, the eligibility criterion fixed for admission to medical and dental colleges by the Medical Council of India and the Dental Council of India.

    A total of 13,081 candidates from the State had taken the UGET and 12,223 from outside the State. In all, 2,169 candidates scored between 40 per cent and 50 per cent marks in PCB papers.

    For engineering courses, 34,237 Karnataka candidates and 14,012 non-Karnataka candidates met the eligibility criterion fixed by the All-India Council for Technical Education.

    These candidates had to appear for the physics, chemistry and mathematics papers.

    Of the candidates who secured the first 100 ranks in the PCB papers, 71 are from Karnataka and 29 from outside the State. Among the top 100 engineering rank-holders, 97 are from Karnataka.

    Kumar K.P., a resident of Madikeri and student of Alvas Pre-University College, Moodbidri, was the topper in the medical and dental streams, while Suhas K. from Banashankari in Bangalore and a student of SKCH Composite PU College topped the list of engineering rank-holders.
