Mahayagam to be held at Sankara Mutt

VISAKHAPATNAM: A `Chaturveda Havana Mahayagam' will be organised at the Sankara Mutt at Dwarakanagar here from June 18 to 24. The `mahayagam' will be organised under the supervision Tangirala Balagangadhara Sastry, principal of Sri Sarvaraya Vedapathasala, Kapileswarapuram.

Susarla Suryanarayana Murthy, secretary of the mutt, told reporters here on Wednesday that besides the `yagam', `Suryanamaskarams', `Mahalingarupa Paramasivaradhana' and `Navagraha japams' would be performed. The rituals would begin on June 18 morning.

In the evening, noted scholar Appala Someswara Sarma would deliver the inaugural address and Viswanadha Gopalakrishna Sastry would speak on the significance of the Vedas. On June 23, Lakshakumkumarchana would be performed. The purnahuti would be performed on June 24 morning.

M. Subrahmanayam of the organisers was also present.
