bmi signs contract with Kale Consultants

Staff Correspondent

Value of the contract over a five-year period is around 8 million pounds

MUMBAI: bmi, the second largest airline operating out of London Heathrow, has signed a contract for Revenue Accounting Processing Services (RAPS) with Kale Consultants Ltd., a leading provider of software solutions and outsourced services to the travel and transportation industry.

Kale will provide RAPS to bmi from its managed processing services centre here and the value of the contract over a five-year period is around eight million pounds.

Addressing the media here on Thursday, Nigel Turner, CEO, bmi, said, "our business objective was to significantly reduce our operational costs and improve the revenue accounting process. To achieve this, we need to use an industry standard solution and outsource the work to an accredited and established service provider with the requisite processes to ensure business continuity and low risk.''

The contract is governed by a Service Level Agreement to ensure that current operational timescales are maintained and improved and will be performed by Kale MPS (managed processing service) from its offices in Mumbai and Pune to provide the maximum resilience.

bmi operates nearly 1,700 flights a week to 35 destinations in Europe, the U.S., the Caribbean, India and Saudi Arabia, using a fleet of 41 aircraft.
