PMK fields nominees in 29 municipal wards

Pondicherry: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leader M. Ramadoss said here on Thursday that the party had fielded candidates in 29 wards (20 in Pondicherry and nine in Karaikal) for the municipal and commune panchayat polls.

The civic elections will be held in a phased manner from June 24.

A five-member committee, headed by him and comprising MLAs R. Anandaraman and P. Arulmurugan, party convenor Pon Selvarasu and deputy convenor N.G. Panneerselvam, held discussions with PCC leader P. Shanmugham and finalised the wards from which PMK candidates would contest.

At the press conference, Mr. Ramadoss released the list of candidates and wards.
