GUNTUR: Summer coaching camps act as testing grounds for parents and children with regard to the children's interest in a particular sport and those having interest in cricket must continue attending regular coaching camp to shape themselves into good players, according to Joint Commissioner Income Tax Rajendra Kumar. The month-long summer cricket coaching camp organised by the Guntur District Cricket Association concluded on Sunday and prizes were given to promising children while certificates were given to all those who attended the camp, said GDCA secretary M. Venkateswara Rao . LG Electronics sponsored the camp that was run by several players, who had represented the State in the Ranji Trophy matches. Meanwhile, the trial matches for selection of Guntur District Cricket Under-15 team would begin on Sunday (June 18) at L.E.M. School in Guntur. Guntur District Cricket Association secretary M. Venkateswara Rao said that those born after September 1, 1991, were eligible for attending the camp. They should be present at the L.E.M. School at 6/13, Brodipet, Guntur with their original date of birth certificates at 9 a.m. on Sunday. For further details, one can contact 0863- 2014588.
