Violation of Programme Code under Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act Similar action recommended against Zee News for tantric-based programme
NEW DELHI:
Seven music channels will have to run an apology for three days beginning on Friday for showing music videos that had been certified as `A' or `U/A'.
Similar action has been recommended by the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry against Zee News for telecasting a programme titled `Kal, Kapal, Mahakal' in violation of the Programme Code under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act.
Besides MTV and Channel [V], the music channels lined up for punishment are MH1, ETC, B4U, Balle Balle and iTV. The charge against them is that they telecast the remixed songs, `Bin Tere Sanam', `Chadati Jawani', `Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar', `Leke Pehla Pehla Pyar' and `Meri Beri Ke Ber', all of which carry either `A' or `U/A' certification.
