Airport receives 47.8 mm rain

Although the city received only 1.9 mm of rainfall till 11.30 p.m., it was enough to bring down the temperatures, which had begun to soar in the last few days. But the airport and surrounding areas received heavy rains, with the Meteorological Department recording 47.8 mm at the airport for the day. A few apartments in the low-lying Pai Layout were flooded. AMSB meeting

The sixth meeting of the Army Management Studies Board (AMSB) began at the ASC Centre and College in Bangalore on Thursday with Lt. Gen. K.S. Jamwal, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command, stressing on the need to increase the interaction between the Army and the academy. The two-day meet will review management related policies, practices and training in the Lt. Gen. Susheel Gupta, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. S.K. Dahiya, Commandant, ASC Centre and College, and commandants of all premier training institutions of the Army are participating in the meet.

Dak adalat

The Postmaster General, South Karnataka region, will hold a "Dak Adalat" on postal complaints on Friday at 11 a.m. in the conference hall of the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Palace Road, Bangalore. Grievances on "postal matters" related to South Karnataka region, including Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Hassan, Kolar, Kodagu, Mandya, Mangalore, Mysore, Nanjungud, Puttur, Shimoga, Tumkur and Udupi postal divisions will be heard at the Adalat.
