dated June 17, 1956: Jinnah's House in Bombay

The Government of India do not wish to sell the late Mr. Jinnah's house in Bombay but wish to acquire it for themselves, according to a Pakistan Government announcement. It said that in March 1955, there was a move by India to auction the house and the Pakistan Government decided to purchase it because of the association it has with the memory of Mr. Jinnah. "Negotiations were opened with the Indian Government who have now intimated that they do not intend to sell the house but wish to acquire it themselves," it added.
