Bidar: The Government will take action against teachers who give tuitions at home and also against principals of their institutions. "We have found that teachers who give tuitions at home do not spend much time for teaching in class. Hence, we are trying to ban private tuitions," Deputy Director of Pre-University Education R. Mahadevappa said here on Thursday. Addressing principals of government, aided and private colleges, he said there was a need to improve the quality of education. Teachers should strive to improve the quality of science education. To achieve this, teachers should spend more time on teaching. However, some teachers in the district were spending less time in college and more at home giving tuitions to rich students. Such teachers would be dealt with strictly. Principals should keep an eye on such activities. They should furnish an affidavit to the Government stating that teachers from their colleges were not giving tuitions at home. If any teacher was found giving tuitions, action would be initiated against the principal concerned, Mr. Mahadevappa said.
