Karunanidhi `taking rest'

BANGALORE:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who is on a personal visit to Bangalore, spent the whole of Friday at his daughter's house in J.P. Nagar here.
An official who is accompanying Mr. Karunanidhi told The Hindu that the Chief Minister was "under complete rest" and did not participate in any programme or meet visitors. Some local DMK leaders and supporters who tried to meet Mr. Karunanidhi were denied an audience.
The official said Mr. Karunanidhi would leave for Chennai on Monday morning. "He has come here on a personal visit to stay with his daughter. He will not attend any programmes during his stay here."
Mr. Karunanidhi, accompanied by Union Minister for IT and Communications Dayanidhi Maran, visited the facilities of IT majors Infosys and Wipro here on Thursday.
