HUBLI: The former Minister R.V. Deshpande has said some groundwork for inviting the former Deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to join the Congress has already been done. Mr. Deshpande told presspersons here on Friday that senior Congress leader A.K. Antony would be coming to Bangalore on Sunday to listen to State Congress leaders' opinions on the issue. Replying to a query, Mr. Deshpande clarified that he had not spoken to Mr. Siddaramaiah in this regard. He had conveyed his opinion to the High Command that the Congress would become stronger if Mr. Siddaramaiah joined the party. On the Tadari thermal power project, Mr. Deshpande said an in-depth study by experts should be undertaken on the impact of the project on marine life and the environment before giving it the go-ahead.
He had already written to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on the issue urging him take an appropriate decision only after a thorough study,
