TENALI (GUNTUR DT.): The Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has expressed its willingness to take two troupes of artistes from Tenali to perform at its annual conference in United States next year, according to Tenali MLA Nadendla Manohar. Speaking to The Hindu here after his return from the US and the UK, he said that it was an encouragement to the artisans of the town that has a rich cultural legacy. "Many of the artistes live in pathetic conditions and it is for the first time that a group from the town is performing in the US," he said. Today, Tenali has more than 130 theatre groups and hundreds of actors and folk artistes.
