CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka, at a few places over Rayalaseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The following stations recorded heavy rainfall in cms:

Honnavar 11, Hospet (Bangalore urban dt.) 10, Shimoga 9, Munirabad (Koppal dt.) and Sidlaghatta (Kolar dt.) 8 each and Denkanikottai (Krishnagiri dt.) 7.

FORECAST (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Karnataka, at a few places over Rayalaseema and Telangana. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and coastal Andhra Pradesh.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.

Outlook for Subsequent Two Days: No large change.
