UPA is disintegrating: Venkaiah Naidu

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The former BJP president, M. Venkaiah Naidu, claimed that the disintegration of the UPA has started, and cited in support of his assertion the lack of unanimity among the partners on major policy issues.

He told presspersons here that the BJP had been saying from the beginning that the UPA was neither a natural alliance, nor was it based on common understanding or programmes. "There is neither conviction, nor commitment or capacity to have such an alliance."

The UPA partners were not seeing eye-to-eye in different States — the RJD and the LJP in Bihar, the DMK and the MDMK in Tamil Nadu, the NCP and the Congress in Maharashtra, and the SP and the Congress in U.P.
