CHENNAI: Agility has been Jishnu Sanyal's strength. However, the Maharashtra lad changed his strategy on Friday and slowed down a bit to emerge triumphant against Arun Nandaluri of Andhra Pradesh. The 18-year-old from Mumbai won 21-17, 21-16 to clinch the boys' under-19 title in the Krishna Khaitan Memorial all-India junior ranking badminton tournament at the Nehru Indoor Stadium here. In the girls' under-19 final, G.M. Nischitha of Karnataka overcame a sluggish start to defeat Neha Pandit of Maharashtra 17-21, 21-18, 21-19.

Meanwhile, after the selection committee meeting here on Friday, Badminton Association of India announced the Indian team for the Asian Badminton junior championship to be held in Kuala Lumpur from July 3 to 9.

The team:

Boys: Jishnu Sanyal, Akshay Dewalkar, Suranjan Nandaluri, Arun Vishnu, Ram C. Vijay, Arun Nandaluri. Reserves: Shankar P. Gopan, Ratikant Shukla.

Girls: Saina Nehwal, Ruth Misha, Gayatri Vartak, Nitya Sosale, Ashwini Ponappa, G.M. Nischitha. Reserves: Neha Pandit, Arundithi.
