Rajan, Ismail, Kurien for Rajya Sabha

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : P.R. Rajan of the CPI(M), K.E. Ismail of the CPI and P.J. Kurien of the Congress will in all probability be the new Rajya Sabha members though the formal announcement will be made only later.

Only three nominations were filed for the election to the three seats in the Upper House when nominations closed on Friday.

The scrutiny will take place on Saturday. June 19 is the last date for the withdrawal of nominations.

The formal announcement of their election will be made only after that.

Polling to be held on June 26 will now be dispensed with.
