Hyderabadi girl rescued from Pune brothel
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A 19-year-old Hyderabadi girl, who landed in a brothel at Pune after stepping out from her house in search of a job a year ago, was rescued by the police of Pune and Hyderabad.
It was a phone call from a mason Siddiramiah, also from Andhra Pradesh but settled in Pune, that helped the police set the girl free two days ago.
"He happened to meet the girl in Pune a week ago and called up his friends in Hyderabad explaining about the plight of the girl," Saifabad Inspector M. Rammohan Rao said.
The mason's friends in turn contacted the girl's father, a watchman, living at Reddy Colony near Indira Seva Sadan. On receipt of a complaint, the Saidabad police sent a special team to Pune. With the assistance of local police, they raided the brothel and arrested three persons on Thursday.
The hapless girl was apparently sold to the brother by one Suresh who befriended her and lured her to Pune by offering a clerical job.
