Textbooks meant for free supply seized

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The city police on Friday arrested three private booksellers and seized 1,322 Government textbooks from them. The arrested,

Santosh Kumar of Bharati Book Centre and Radhakrishna of D.V. Krishna Book Depot and Ch. Ashok Kumar of Sri Venkateswara Book Depot, were being remanded in judicial custody. Task Force DCP G. Sudheer Babu said that the arrested were authorised by some private schools to collect the books from the Government book depot at Ramanthapur. Hoodwinking managements of such private schools, these booksellers created an artificial shortage of textbooks by retaining some books supplied by the Government depot.

They used to sell those retained books in market for a higher price .
