Residents' protest

KOCHI: Protesting against flouting building rules by builders, residents of Sowmya Nagar in the city will hold a meeting at Alinchuvadu Junction on Saturday. Thomas Abraham, president of the Sowmya Nagar Residents Association, said here on Friday that the city would become a slum if builders were allowed to continue construction where there was little space to accommodate big buildings. Pointing out the environmental pollution and the problems of sanitation and water that the construction activities would bring about, he said they would affect the healthy living of the people. - Staff Reporter
