Coimbatore: Constitutional expert, educationist and Padmabhushan awardee M. V. Pylee said here on Friday that meeting his former students in any part of the world gave him greater satisfaction than anything else as a teacher. He was replying to felicitations at a function organised in his honour by the Guruvayurappan Institute of Management and the Coimbatore Management Association.
200 research papers
Emeritus Professor Pylee, who was Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cochin from 1977 to 1981, published his first book on the Indian Constitution in 1955. Ten revised editions have followed. He has published over 200 research papers in journals of national and international importance. Bharathiar University Vice-Chancellor S. Sivasubramanian, who presided over the function, said that at a time when higher education was in the doldrums, there was need for leadership from people like Prof. Pylee, who had been associated both with the Harvard School of Business and the Wharton School of Business. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman, K. G. Hospitals, said that the most respected knowledge was that imparted by a teacher
