DIC(K) leaders meet KPCC president in comeback bid

Thiruvananthapuram: The DIC (K) district unit suffered a major setback on Friday when a section of the leadership including former president P. Vijayadas approached the Congress (I) in a bid to return to the party they had left earlier.

Mr. Vijayadas, accompanied by his party colleagues, arrived at the KPCC (I) headquarters and held discussions with senior Congress(I) leaders including Ramesh Chennithala and A.K. Antony.

DIC(K) district leaders Marayamuttam Suresh, Kaimanam Prabhakaran, Prakash, Bhasurangan and Kuttimoodu Rashid, the party central committee member M.S. Anil, Youth Congress state general secretary K. Pradeep Kumar, state committee member Vinod Krishna, KSU (Indira) district president M.H. Subair and leaders of various feeder organisations accompanied Mr. Vijayadas. The leaders who had deserted the Congress(I) following the formation of the DIC(K), expressed their willingness to accept the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and work for it . KPCC office bearers including P.P. George, V.S. Sivakumar, M.I. Shanwaz, Ajay Tharayil, Joseph Vazhakkal and Thampanoor Ravi participated.
