Officer hurt in attack

BANGALORE:
A Joint Director of the Sericulture Department was injured when an employee who had been compulsorily retired allegedly attacked him with a machete at his office on Friday.
The incident occurred at the chamber of Venkatesha Machakanur, a senior KAS officer, at the Multi Storeyed Buildings in Vidhana Soudha police Station limits.
The police said the accused Hanumantharaju (43) barged into the chamber of the officer and attacked him.
Hospitalised
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central), G.B. Chebbi said the officer had been hospitalised and that he was out of danger.
The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested the accused and registered a case.
