St. Stephen's College comes up with first cut-off list

  • Economics Honours has a cut-off of 94 % for Science students
  • Cut-off for Sanskrit stands at 60 % for all streams
  • Cut off fot English (Honours) is 93 % for Science students

    NEW DELHI: The first college in Delhi University to kick off the admissions process for the upcoming new academic year, St. Stephen's announced its first cut-off list on Friday. Students who meet the minimum eligibility requirement would be called for interviews, to be held from June 20 onward.

    Economics Honours -- one of the most sought after courses at the college -- has a high cut-off of 94 per cent for Science students. Students should have scored 80 per cent in Mathematics if they belong to the general category. However, the cut-off for Mathematics is 70 per cent for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and Christian students. Those wanting to opt for Economic (Honours) from the Commerce stream must have 97 per cent in the best of four subjects with a language. The cut-off for students with Humanities applying to Economics (Honours) is 92 per cent.

    The cut-off for Sanskrit stands at 60 per cent for all streams.

    High cut off

    The cut-off for History (Honours) is a high 92 per cent for Science students, 94 per cent for students wanting to switch from Commerce and 83 per cent for students with Humanities.

    Candidates wanting to opt for English (Honours) at St. Stephen's must have 93 per cent if they are from the Science stream, 97 per cent if they are switching to English from the Commerce stream, and 87 per cent for students with Humanities. Students must also have 78 per cent in Elective English or 88 per cent in Core English for the general category.

    However, for those applying under the SC/ST or Christian quota, 73 per cent in Elective English or 83 per cent in Core English will be applicable.

    The cut-off for the B.A. Programme is 86 per cent for Science stream students, 89 per cent for Commerce stream and 79 per cent for Humanities. Those applying for Mathematics (Honours) must have 92 per cent for the Science stream, 91 for Commerce and 81 per cent for Humanities. Students with Business Mathematics are not eligible.

    The cut-off for Physics is 91 per cent, while it is 85 per cent for Chemistry for students who have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
