KANNUR: District panchayat president K.K. Narayanan has said that most political parties and economists in the State have failed to present a clear perception on development of productive sectors in the State. Inaugurating a three-day State-level organisational workshop of the Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) at the Krishna Menon Memorial Government Women's College here on Friday, Mr. Narayanan said though the State Government and the local bodies had been spending crores of rupees from the Plan fund for development every year, the productive sectors, such as agriculture and industry, and especially the traditional industries in the State had been showing reverse growth. Mr. Narayanan said roads and bridges continued to be the main considerations on the development agendas of local bodies. Basic development of the productive sectors was not on the agenda of the Governments and the people, he said urging the KSSP to come forward to launch a campaign to create awareness on the need of developing the productive sector. District president of the KSSP K.V. Janaki presided.
