Conference of Dravidian linguists

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Around 100 young researchers from all over the country will present papers at the 34th `Annual Conference of Dravidian Linguists' to be held here from June 22 to 24.

The International School of Dravidian Linguistics, St. Xavier's College, and Dravidian Linguistics Association are the cosponsors of the programme.

Puthusseri Ramachandran, former dean of Oriental Studies and professor of Malayalam, Kerala University, will be the chairman of the three-day conference.

M. Veerappa Moily, former Chief Minister of Karnataka, will release the dialect survey maps of the Ezhava/Tiyas published by the International School of Dravidian Linguistics.

The family of Mariadas Pillai, the editor of Tamilian Antiquery, one of the earliest English journals published from Tiruchi will be honoured during the conference.
