NIZAMABAD: About 15,000 literate, unemployed youths from all Telangana districts (except Khammam) and Kurnool are expected to turn up at the four-day mega Army Recruitment Rally to be held on the Government Polytechnic College grounds and the CSI grounds, here from June 21. Giving details at a joint press conference here on Saturday, Col. Ithani, Director, branch recruiting office, Secunderabad called upon the youth not to get carried away by any sort of "misinformation" campaign by touts and middlemen regarding selections. It would be totally free and fair, open and transparent. Eligible candidates from Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Medak and Warangal districts will be selected for `soldier general duty', candidates from all Telangana districts (except Khammam) and Kurnool will be recruited for `soldier technical' and the youth from Nizamabad district will be selected for `soldier tradesmen' and `soldier nursing sssistants'.
Eligibility criteria
All those who were born between June 23, 1983 and December 22, 1988 and qualified in Intermediate with biology, physics and chemistry are eligible for `soldier nursing assistant' while those born between June 23, 1985 and December 22, 1988 with SSC qualification are eligible for soldier general duty. Those born between June 23, 1983 and December 22, 1988 with an Intermediate are eligible for soldier technical and those with same age but a 5th and 8th class passed are fit for soldier tradesman.
Information centres
District Collector I. Srinivasa Srinaresh said that the administration will put up information centres and provide accommodation for the candidates at six schools and colleges.
Volunteers
Joint Collector G. Ramnarayan Reddy said volunteers would be posted at bus depot, bus stops and railway stations to guide potential candidates.
