NEW DELHI: M. Venkaiah Naidu, senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, will once again go to Bangalore on Sunday to try and prevent the collapse of the fledgling coalition Government in Karnataka run by the BJP and the Janata Dal (Secular) following differences between the two parties over the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project. BJP president Rajnath Singh told The Hindu that he was of the view that the issue would be sorted out. "Mr. Venkaiah Naidu will go to Bangalore. He will hold discussions and report to the Central office,'' he said. Mr. Singh said that he had been in touch with H.D. Deve Gowda, Janata Dal (S) president, to try and defuse the crisis and had spoken to him on telephone. The efforts to defuse the crisis between the two coalition partners at this juncture assume importance as the Budget session of the State Legislative Assembly is beginning on Monday. The Government is facing a crisis as the Janata Dal (S) is insisting on bringing in legislation to take over the management of the BMIC project on the ground that there had been irregularities in the formulation of the project during the previous Congress regime. The BJP is against the move. Congress leader in-charge of Karnataka affairs A.K. Antony will arrive in Bangalore on Sunday for discussions with his party colleagues on the political developments in the State.
