Local body polls: not many independents in the fray

Only 10 independents to contest; 49 ZPTC seats in all in the district

VIJAYAWADA: The elections to ZPTCs and MPTCs witness a lesser participation by independents this time.

Only 10 independents have thrown in their hats in all the 49 ZPTC seats in the district, as against 375 candidates fielded by various political parties.
