The National Institute of Sciences Communication and Information Resources under the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, New Delhi, has invited applications for the entrance test for admission to the associateship in information sciences for the year 2006-08. This two-year course is equivalent to master's degree in library and information sciences recognised by the Government of India and many universities. Those who have a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks in master's degree or B.E./MBBS or B.LISc. plus one year of relevant experience after B.LISc. are eligible to apply for the test.
Centres
The test will be conducted in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai. Those who qualify in the test have to appear for an interview in New Delhi. Outstation candidates appearing for interview will be paid second-class sleeper return rail fare. Twenty-five students will be selected based on the test and interview. The test will be held on July 12 and interview will be held during the second week of August. There is also provision for scholarship to 40 per cent of non-sponsored meritorious students at Rs. 1,000 a month for nine months.
