Pondicherry: There was brisk polling at the French Consulate office here on Sunday when voters turned up enthusiastically to exercise their franchise to elect two candidates (and two substitutes) to the Assembly des Francais de l`etranger (Assembly for French citizens residing abroad). The voters' strength was 5,214. The tenure of the members elected to the Assembly would be six years. In all four sets of candidates were in the fray.
