Plea on thumb impression

GUNTUR: Taking thumb impression of all voters in the Panchayat elections must be made compulsory pleaded Siddam Kondaiah, a person hailing from Secunderabad, in a letter to District Collector G. Jayalakshmi here on Saturday. In a copy of the memorandum given to the Collector, he believes that it would result in arresting rigging in the constituencies, which was proved in the 2001 Panchayat elections in Vadlamudivari palem in Guntur district. In case of dispute, the impressions can be cross-checked to verify the genuine voters, he believes.
