CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Government is all set to ink the deal with Reliance Industries on Monday for the setting up of a Special Economic Zone over 25,000 acres of land near Garhi Harsaru despite opposition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), and some Congress leaders led by the Bhiwani MP, Kuldeep Bishnoi. The Joint Venture Agreement between the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation and Reliance Ventures Limited will be signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani at the Haryana Niwas here. Meanwhile, Mr.Bishnoi, the son of former Chief Minister and President of the Haryana unit of the Congress, Bhajan Lal, has in his reply to the show-cause notice issued to him by the Congress General Secretary, Janardan Dwivedi, reiterated his demand that the proposed deal with Reliance be scrapped in the best interest of the people of Haryana and the Congress party. Mr.Bishnoi, while recalling his family's loyalty and contribution to the Congress during the last several decades, said that he had brought to the notice of the Party President, Sonia Gandhi, several lacunae in the "proposed deal'' with Reliance as it was patent that prime land acquired by the HSIDC was being handed over to the industrial group for a mere "pittance.'' He asserted that he was not siding with the Opposition parties just to embarrass the Hooda Government but was raising pertinent questions about the "deal'' which was his democratic right.
