School and hospital tie-up

Pact will cover injuries to students during school hours only

TAMBARAM : A matriculation school and a private hospital have come together to provide a group medical package for students. The S.C.S. Matriculation Higher Secondary School and the Parvathy Ortho Hospital, both in Chromepet, entered into an agreement on Sunday whereby the hospital would bear the medical expenses for injuries sustained by the students during school hours.

A sum of Rs. 30 from the annual fee of the students would be paid to the hospital. In the event of minor injuries, the hospital would bear the medical expenses to the tune of Rs. 1,000 if the student were treated as an out-patient. And, if the student had to be admitted, treatment to the tune of Rs. 10,000 would be provided free.
